Lava has launched a new tablet in its Xtron series in India, the Xtron Z704., priced at Rs. 6,499. The company notes that the tablet is targeted at college-going students and young professionals.The Lava Xtron Z704 tablet runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It features a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels, and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT8127) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.
It sports a 2-megapixel rear camera without flash, while there is also a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera onboard. The Xtron Z704 includes 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).

Connectivity options on the Lava Xtron Z704 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, GPS, HDMI, and GPRS/ EDGE. While no voice-calling capability is mentioned, the tablet certainly seems capable of it on paper. We've contacted the company for confirmation, and will update this article once we know. It packs a 4000mAh battery. The tablet measures 188.4x108x10.7mm, and weighs 320 grams.
