AmazonFresh expands delivery to New York
AmazonFresh, the e-commerce giant's grocery delivery service, has landed on the East Coast.Starting Friday, AmazonFresh is available in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, the company announced. It's not clear whether the service will expand to other parts of New York, but it seems likely as Amazon has previously said it wants to bring the grocery delivery service to more locations.
AmazonFresh is already available in Seattle and a handful of other areas across California, including Los Angeles and San Francisco. AmazonFresh lets customers order fresh produce, dairy, meats and other groceries online and then deliveries the goods to customers' doorsteps -- offering free same-day and early morning deliver on orders that exceed $35.
For now, AmazonFresh's New York service is available only to members of its $99-per-year Prime shipping and content services. At the start of next year, customers can sign up for Prime Fresh for $299 per year.
