Useful tips to Secure yourFacebook Account.

Useful tips to Secure your
Facebook Account.
1. Turn on the secure browsing
Many people don’t even consider this thing as security measure, but believe me guys if you are on a Wi-fi connection or in any LAN connection, it is damn easy to hack and get into you accounts using simple hacking tools like Wireshark. I used to see many apps asking you to turn
off security browsing to use them but try to avoid such apps.
Here is how you can turn on your secure browsing Open your Facebook account.
Click on small button that is just beside
the Home button.
Select “Account settings”.
Go to “Security settings”.
Click on secure browsing and tick the box
there and give a click on “secure
browsing” to complete the procedure.
Now you can enjoy the secure browsing.
2. Use a Strong Password.
Using a strong password will always add
an extra security layer to your profile.
Even I used to hack my friends accounts
just to prank them but I am surprised to
see that many of them used their mobile
number, Names (crush, friends, relative,
places…Etc) as their passwords. After that
even I tried to break into few other
friends’ accounts just by guessing
passwords.
If you don’t want that to happen to you
just use some strong Password. Strong
password is nothing but of combination of
Upper case letter, Lower case letters,
Numbers and symbols and I don’t
recommend you to write them anywhere.
Even avoid sharing your password.
It is also recommended you to change
your password frequently.

Add Drop Down Menu in Blogger

Add Drop Down Menu in Blogger

If you have many different categories/labels,  you may have problem displaying all of them in a page. One reason been that, they tend to occupy a lot of space which may make your page look so crowded. The other reason would be because, you just do not want to have a lot of information on your side bar.

Different categories appear in lists with each one of them showing the total number of posts under that category. Creating a drop down menu for those labels, can make your page look less crowded.
If you had checked this blog before, you may have noticed that my labels were displayed immediately after the heading as menu but I have decided to change them to appear in drop down menu on the side bar.

To change categories so that they may not appear in list but as drop down menu. Go to;
  • Blogspot Dashboard

  • Edit HTML (make sure that have downloaded your template before making any changes).

  • Using Ctrl+F, locate the following code in your template (Do not put a check mark on the Expand Widget Template).
<b:widget id='Label1' locked='false' title='Daily Blog Tips Labels' type='Label'/>
Note that 'Daily Blog Tips Labels' is my label title. Make sure that you change it to the desired title name of your choice or you can just use the word label eg title='Labels'.
Replace the above code with the following code;
<b:widget id='Label1' locked='false' title='Daily Blog Tips Labels'  type='Label'>
<b:includable id='main'>
 <b:if cond='data:title'>
   <h2><data:title/></h2>
 </b:if>
 <div class='widget-content'>
<br />
<select onchange='location=this.options[this.selectedIndex].value;'>
   <option>Select a label</option>
   <b:loop values='data:labels' var='label'>
      <option expr:value='data:label.url'><data:label.name/>
         (<data:label.count/>)
      </option>
   </b:loop>
</select>
   <b:include name='quickedit'/>
 </div>
</b:includable>
</b:widget>
Again do not forget to change the label title 'Daily Blog Tips Labels' to the title name that you want to give to your label.
f you want to set the total number of labels that will appear in the drop down menu, go to;
  • Design - Edit (select the label gadget that you have created).
  • On the configure label pop up window, you can
  • Once again change the label title.
  • Select whether you want to show all labels or choose only a few of them.
  • Sort out the labels alphabetically or by frequency
  • Select how to display labels either as list or cloud
  • Whether to show number of posts per label or not.

When you are done doing the changes, click on save and then view your blog.  You have a drop down menu on your side bar or wherever you want it to be displayed.

How to Insert Table in Blog Post

How to Insert Table in Blog Post

On my previous post on how to make a table in a blog Post, I discussed how to make table of two or three column with a heading. In this post, I will discuss how to insert a table in a blog post.

Go to Blogger – Dashboard – New post. It opens to a page where you can write a new post. If you are writing a normal post, you usually go to compose and write your post there but this time click on Edit HTML link, instead of compose.

Insert the code of the table that you want on Edit HTML mode. In this example, I am going to use my previous two columns table that I made in my tutorial on how to make a table in a blog post ;  I click on Edit HTML and paste the following code there;

<table border=”1”>

<tr>
< th> Blog Ideas and Tips </th>
< th> Blog Ideas </th>
< /tr>

< tr>
< td> Blogger ideas and tips </td>
< td> Blogger ideas</td>

<tr>
< td>Blog Spot</td>
< td> Blogging</td>
< /tr>

< tr>
< td> Tips</td>
< td> Ideas</td>
< /tr>
< /table>
